About

Life can be hard. As a teenager, I struggled – with perceived pressure from my parents, and real pressure from myself. I needed to do well in school, to get into a good college, and to get a job. I did what was expected without ever asking myself if this is what I really wanted.

When I first met my husband, he planted an idea in my head children help us grow as human beings. The journey of parenthood was super challenging and immensely rewarding. To work with these challenges, I became part of spaces that were nurturing and healing – giving me the resources to grow and become a better human.

My previous life was a software engineer living in Silicon Valley. In 2007, it seemed like I began a new life when I experienced mindfulness through studying Nonviolent Communication. I then became a certified Mindful Schools Instructor, a Mindful Self-Compassion and Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens (MSC-Teens) Trained Teacher, a Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness Practitioner, and a MSC-Teens Teacher Trainer and Mentor. I have been teaching mindful communication, mindfulness, and self-compassion to teens and parents since 2014. I am currently a student of Dr Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry yearlong professional training.

My focus now is in creating spaces for teens/parents that are rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion. The intention for coming together in these spaces is to have meaningful conversations and experiences. It is an opportunity to explore and gain insight into what is most supportive for each individual in navigating the challenges of family life.
